On this short tour, you can choose whether you would like to travel in a group or with your own private guide. Select the option that best suits you. This compact tour offers a glimpse into the culture, history, and landscapes of Malaysia, including the city center of Penang, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Day 1: Kuala Lumpur – Cameron Highlands
In the morning, you will be picked up and head north towards the Cameron Highlands. Along the way, you will stop at the Lata Iskandar Waterfall and an indigenous settlement. Take a tour through the Highlands, visiting a tea plantation and tea factory (open on weekdays, except Mondays and public holidays), as well as a market and a cactus garden.
Day 2: Cameron Highlands – Penang (B)
Depart early for Penang. On the way, stop in Ipoh and the royal town of Kuala Kangsar. Explore the old town of Ipoh on a short colonial city tour, visiting the Moorish-style Ipoh Railway Station, also called the "Taj Mahal of Ipoh," and the Ipoh Town Hall. Stroll along Concubine Lane, once home to wealthy Chinese magnates and British officers. Today, the pre-war shop houses lining the street shine in new splendor. Continue on to Kuala Kangsar and around Bukit Chandan. Admire Malaysia’s unique architecture from the outside of Masjid Ubudiah, Istana Iskandariah, and Istana Kenangan (Royal Gallery), and take a photo stop. Afterwards, visit the Labu Sayong Center, where mainly women craft beautifully shaped pots. Finally, cross one of the longest bridges in the world and arrive in Penang, the "Pearl of the Orient."
Day 3: Penang Island Tour (B)
Today you will first visit the third-largest reclining Buddha statue in the world. Afterwards, explore Kek Lok Si Temple, also known as the "Temple of 1,000 Buddhas." Then continue to Fort Cornwallis, the Clan Jetties waterfront village at Weld Quay, and the "Street of Harmony," where churches, Chinese temples, mosques, and Hindu temples coexist harmoniously. Admire the elaborately decorated Khoo Kong Si clan house. Later, enjoy a relaxing rickshaw ride. The remainder of the day is free for you to spend at leisure.
Day 4: Penang (B)
After breakfast, transfer to Penang Airport. Alternatively, you may extend your stay in Penang.
